The below video describes in detail why we should not be eating sugar and fructose.
I have heard before that sugar is not good for human consumption but not why. In this lecture Professor Robert Lustig humorously and clearly shows how the liver processes fructose and sugar and the effects it has on our bodies. One problem is that we do not get the hormone message to the brain saying we are full. Due to this video and other information I will not be eating sugar ever again. My health has been poor for many years and sugar has not helped.
Robert H. Lustig, MD, UCSF Professor of Paediatrics in the Division of Endocrinology, explores the damage caused by sugary foods. He argues that fructose (too much) and fiber (not enough) appear to be cornerstones of the obesity epidemic through their effects on insulin. Recorded on 05/26/2009.
