I have been on a journey similar to that of Christina Bishara with regard to wearing a head scarf, make-up, hair and clothing over a number of years. It seems like the Lord is wanting to bring back women to the biblical and the Godly pattern.
I have experienced the same closeness and changes in my prayer life and the way people relate to me. My husband Raymond said once when there were two other women wearing head scarfs, that there was a holiness about us and the spiritual environment had changed. It is not easy and each women road will be somewhat different. However, I believe it is a road that all women need to travel if they want to have a closer and more intimate relationship with Jesus our Lord. How we conduct ourselves in this world has impact not only here on earth but also in the heavenlies.
Remember our enemy Satan knows what we as women should be doing and has attacked this area since the beginning in the garden. He will make it difficult each step of the way and most of the problems will come from other Christian women.

A lot of folks will say that if you look at culture, in the older days of the Bible, everyone wore robes, so there is really no way to know what is pertinent in today’s society. Surprisingly though, there are many Scriptures that show us what is appropriate to wear and what is inappropriate wear. If something is listed in Scripture, we can know that it is mentioned because it is important for us to know.
If the Lord didn’t care about our physical garments, He could have only listed character requirements, but He didn’t. Instead, He clearly highlights to us in His Word what a Heathen woman acts like and dresses like and also lists the character and garments of a Godly woman. In fact, all through out Scripture, we see great emphasis on not only the physical garments, but our spiritual garments as well. But since we are talking about physical clothing, let’s take a look at those scriptures.
Firstly, we see clearly that regardless of whatever culture that you live in, you are not to wear a man’s garment and a man is not to wear a woman’s garment. Deuteronomy 22:5 (KJV), “The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman’s garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the Lord thy God.”
